• Arrangement of the Archive

Archive papers have been dusted and moved to two rooms with all the necessary measures for appropriately safeguarding the documents. This move has created the distinction between Historical Archive «Severina Parodi» and Modern Archive.
The Accademia has chosen to develop its own cataloguing programme instead of purchasing one which would not be appropriate for the Archive’s needs. Thanks to special funds, the Accademia laid the foundations of what became the Archeotheke of the Accademia della Crusca (later called Digital Archive), the personalization of the Progettinrete software for indexing, cataloguing and consulting historical archives according to ISAD and ISAAR standards for corporations and producers/creators. This application allows the operator to create tree structures, without limits in number and kinds of levels that can be modified both during the indexing and the reorganization. Not only images can be associated with any item created, but also other multimedia items and transcriptions, on which it is possible to do advanced linguistic studies. The software can deal with any kind of documents and allows to further customize both the classification path and the interface for inserting data. Many different research and browsing levels are available for access to consultation, depending on the specific requirements for accessing the documentation that the user wants to adopt.
